Easter

We celebrated Easter with the Stanley's in North Carolina this year. Rochele's getting married a few days later, so we decided to make a family trip and spend a week down there. This Easter was so nice to take pictures of the kids outside (not in a snow bank!) We also tried something else new and had an Easter egg hunt outside! Two things we were never able to do in the past as we are usually still in the midst of winter up in Maine. We were also very happy to meet the newest addition to the Stanley clan, Luke. He is so very cute and such a good boy! Glennie loved playing with him all week.

Bon Jovi in concert! At last!!

Finally, a dream come true. I was able to attend a Bon Jovi concert. It was so awesome!! He sang all the number one songs from the past and all the popular hits now. There were a couple of songs I never heard of, but mostly I was singing right along with him. The most fun I have had in a long time. Glen and the girls could not believe I stood up the entire 2 1/2 hours dancing away to my favorite group. Richie did a song himself, which was awesome. Daughtry was the opening act. I enjoyed the songs that had become popular, but the others were very hard rock and couldn't even begin to understand what he was saying. He did come and join Bon Jovi in the "Blaze of Glory" song and that was very good. A great night! One more thing to check off on my list of things to do before I die!

Little Gymnast

Lucy has been taking gymnastics since she was 3. At first we put her in the rec program, where she would have a lot of fun and learn new skills, but not pushed into anything. The last two years she has been in the intermural program where you are separated into groups by skill level. Lucy has done well and been able to advance rather quickly. She has always been a little afraid of the uneven bars, but as you can see, she has managed to make it to the top bar and pass off her routine with flying colors. The vault is one of her favorite events. She feels like she is flying over the top of the vault. Lucy's favorite event is the floor. This year, she has mastered her standing back handspring and has moved on to a round-off double back handspring! Sorry, I do not have pictures of that! We are very proud of her as she has come a long way and really loves this sport. I do wish sometimes we lived in an area where there was a more competitive nature. Lucy tells me that when she grows up she wants to teach gymnastics.
