Brittany is a Teenager!!!

Yes, she is 13!! I cannot believe it. She had a sleepover with her girlfriends and then we went to the bowling alley to have a party there. All the kids had a great time. That night we had a party with the family, so it was all about Brittany this day!! Brittany has grown into such a beautiful young women. She has her father's social butterfly personality. She is mostly happy and is very good about letting things roll off her back. She has made lots of good friends and tries to have a sleep over of some sort almost every weekend. She is working hard at school. She is also active in church working on her Young Women personal progress. Her favorite things to do is socialize with friends, AIM, text, talk on the phone (do you get the message?). She does enjoy her family too. She has a very soft spot for her younger brother, Glen. Her and Lucy often sleep in each other's rooms. American Idol is the latest craze around here. We watch every night and text our votes in after the show. Brittany's favorite right now, is David Archuleta, the very cute 17 year old from Utah.

Did I mention that she loves shoes and handbags?

K.I.S.S Events

We had another successful event. The weather was not much help on Friday, but it did clear up and everyone managed to make it okay. Here I am with Donna Downey. I am looking a little tired, I must say. Two days and about 3 hours of sleep does not do well for the bags under the eyes. The ladies who attended had a good time. They were all so busy scrappin and shopping till their hearts content. No husbands allowed! Some of our attendees scrapbooked dozens of pages while others only managed to finish 5. Most of them are coming back again next year! We have some very loyal supporters who return year after year. We are so thankful for them especially when they return with more and more of their friends. Here are some more pictures taken during the crop and in the vendor fair.

We also had a pajama contest on Saturday night. Here are some of the participants. The winners were the Princess and the Hersey Kisses were first runners up. My favorite was the Hersey Kisses. I love the play on words with our event name and of course I do love chocolate! Plus, these ladies have been to almost every event and have participated in our PJ contest at each one. I love their spirit!

Winter Wonderland

Beautiful, isn't it? The camera cannot possibly capture the beauty of the sun shining through the ice covered trees. I cannot believe the amount of snow we have gotten this year. We even had a major thaw this January and most of the snow had melted at one point. It has snowed at least twice a week. The kids have missed seven days of school. Three just last week. (not that they have minded...) This last storm came through yesterday. Along with snow, and freezing rain came major power outages all over the state. At total of about 80,000 households without power including us. 14 hours later, it came back on. Thanks goodness for the generator we did not miss American Idol last night! We have sure gotten spoiled!
